"For the first half of summer I was a part of the Herb Scarf Fellowship where I pressure tested LLM models to test whether AI can be incorporated into public health policy. For the second half I took two classes at the London School of Economics, international law and financial statement analysis and have thoroughly enjoyed both. I've done some vacation travel to Paris, Barcelona, Bavaria, and London of course (for LSE)."

"I also got around to trying a culinary course while abroad which definitely showed how little I knew. I had an absurd amount of oysters while visiting Cape Cod and finally managed to learn how to play poker, but I still kept up my foosball streak. Bought a few too many more perfumes than I have occasions for, and also had the best steak of my entire life."

My intern experience at Bain Atlanta was the clearest validation yet of my decision 3 years ago to give consulting a try when I applied to YUCG as a first-year. Over the summer, I supported the execution of a B2B sales acceleration strategy for a Fortune 100 company, identifying and quantifying revenue growth opportunities through Excel modeling, secondary research, and direct client collaboration. I drew on many of the skills YUCG first taught me -- from slide-making to research -- while also honing my modeling and communication abilities further.

The experience was also a blast! I went to lots of sports games: the Haiti-Morocco world cup game with my project team and a Braves game with my intern class. The office also had lots of events, including a bike tour of Atlanta (pictured above) and offsite, where we went to Asheville as the entire office together. All the interns and entry-level consultants also went on a lake weekend near the end of the summer!

Between driving tangible impact, constant learning, and a truly fun intern class, the internship was a highlight of my summer.

Outside of the internship, I spent the summer visiting family in Wichita, Kansas, going to many more Braves games, and otherwise enjoying time with friends from home (shoutout Atlanta!). Other highlights include: buying my first car, baking up a storm, and starting consistently working out for the first time since high school.

"This summer, I've been interning at the DGA Group in DC! I've enjoyed getting a glimpse into a more specialized type of consulting. As a geopolitical advisory firm, the projects have a stark focus on regulatory, legal, and policy issues, which has been really interesting for me as a Poli Sci major. I've also enjoyed applying the structured problem-solving and research skills that I've developed through YUCG throughout my work!"

"Outside of work, I’ve absolutely fallen in love with D.C. as a city, from going on runs to the National Mall, hitting up all the flea markets on the weekends, to going bar-hopping with my co-interns."
