FAQ

Absolutely no prior consulting experience is required to join YUCG. In fact, the vast majority of our new analysts each semester join with no prior consulting or even "business" experience. We provide applicants with all the workshops, mentorship, and guidance they need to succeed in our recruiting process.
YUCG does not consider majors when choosing applicants. Our organization is made up of members with a variety of majors ranging from History of Art to Computer Science.
In order to apply, applicants will fill out our online application. This consists of providing basic personal details, submitting a resume, and answering a written consulting case question. Selected applicants will then proceed to the interview portion that consists of fit, consulting case questions, and a case presentation. Chosen applicants will be notified of their acceptance soon afterwards.
YUCG offers a variety of resources to help you prepare for your case interview: the YUCG Application Guide, the casing workshop, and our numerous drop-in office hours.
YUCG is a rewarding but time-intensive engagement. Our work deals with real clients that expect quality services. The average member can expect a weekly 4-6 hour project deliverable accompanied by a weekly 1-3 hour meeting. Members are also expected to attend training sessions and are encouraged to participate in YUCG social events.
